2. Which type of transport should I choose: sea, air, rail or road?
The average terminal-to-terminal train journey time (e.g., from the major hubs of Xi'an, Chengdu, or Chongqing to the terminal in Małaszewicze) is typically 12–16 days . The total door-to-door turnaround time (including factory pickup, clearance, and delivery in Poland) is 17–21 days on average.
3. Can the forwarding company also handle customs clearance?
- FCL (Full Container Load) : Full container transport – the entire container (usually 40'HC) is reserved for one recipient, which ensures maximum safety and no need for deconsolidation.
- LCL (Less than Container Load) : Groupage transport – goods from multiple shippers are consolidated into a single container. Billing is based on weight or volume (the rail freight conversion rate is typically 1 m³ = 500 kg or 1 m³ = 333 kg , depending on the chosen line).
4. What does the cost of international transport depend on?
Depending on the route, the following applies:
- CIM – international consignment note valid in Western Europe,
- SMGS – a waybill used in Eastern European and Asian countries,
- CIM/SMGS – a standardized waybill that eliminates the need to retype documentation at border stations, speeding up transit. At OPL, we verify and coordinate the accuracy of all shipping documents.
