1. What is international freight forwarding?
Air cargo is the best solution when delivery time is a priority (express shipments and urgent, just-in-time deliveries), high-value goods (e.g., electronics, pharmaceuticals, luxury goods), or products with a short shelf life. It is the fastest and safest form of international logistics, minimizing the risk of delays and cargo damage.
2. Which type of transport should I choose: sea, air, rail or road?
Air freight is billed based on the higher of actual (gross) weight or volumetric weight. The standard IATA conversion rate for air freight is:

1 m³ = 167 kg (formula: Length × Width × Height in cm / 6000).
3. Can the forwarding company also handle customs clearance?
The basic transport document is the AWB (Air Waybill) or HAWB / MAWB in the case of air cargo consolidation. For efficient customs clearance (both import and export), the following are necessary:

  • Commercial Invoice,
  • Packing List,
  • Translation of invoice/specification items,
  • Certificates or declarations of conformity (if required by the goods).

4. What does the cost of international transport depend on?
DGR (Dangerous Goods Regulations) goods are substances and items that pose a potential risk during transport (including lithium-ion batteries, electronics with built-in power supply, aerosols, flammable substances, chemical products). Their air transport is possible, but requires:

  • Certified packaging compliant with UN standards,
  • Proper marking and labeling,
  • Issuing a DGD (Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods) declaration and verification of the safety data sheet (MSDS).
